Andrew Yingst is the head winemaker and vineyard manager at Grace Winery in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania — a role he has held since 2018. Pennsylvania born and raised, Andrew's path to winemaking began after college with a four-month journey through New Zealand, where time spent in the Marlborough and Otago regions sparked an interest in wine that he couldn't shake. Returning to the States, he sought out vineyard work before discovering his true calling in the cellar.
Andrew honed his craft at Adams County Winery and Folino Estate, both in Pennsylvania, before joining Grace in 2018. In 2024 he took on the additional role of vineyard manager, deepening his connection to the 6-acre estate vineyard he has helped shape since his arrival. His academic background in cultural geography informs not only how he thinks about terroir, but how he approaches the guest experience, believing that wine is best understood when it is rooted in a specific place and shared with intention.
His winemaking philosophy is straightforward: restrained, food-driven wines that express the character of the estate's ancient granite and gneiss soils and the long, continental growing season of the Brandywine Valley. Made to enhance the moment, never dominate it.
Beyond the cellar, Andrew serves as Vice President of the Pennsylvania Winery Association Board and President of the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail — roles that reflect his commitment to the broader growth of Pennsylvania as a serious wine region.
